Sustainability at Casa Blu starts with the ocean we built this brand around – it's the starting point for every material choice we make, not an add-on.
We make swimwear from REPREVE® recycled polyester, not because it's a marketing hook, but because it's the most logical choice: a high-performance fabric that doesn't require new petroleum extraction to produce. Every piece is designed to last the season – and many seasons after that.
We're a new brand. We don't have a perfect answer to every sustainability question, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we do have is a commitment to making decisions that reduce impact where we can, and to being transparent about where we're still figuring it out.
BUILD FROM WHAT CAME BEFORE
All Casa Blu pieces are made from REPREVE® – a certified recycled polyester made from post-consumer plastic bottles. Certified under the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) and verified using FiberPrint® tracer technology, REPREVE® is one of the most traceable and independently verifiable recycled performance fibres in the world.
The process: plastic bottles are collected, cleaned, broken down and spun into high-performance polyester fibre. The result performs identically to virgin polyester – chlorine and saltwater resistant, UV-resistant, quick-dry, built for movement – without requiring petroleum extraction to make it.
DESIGNED TO LAST
The most sustainable piece of swimwear is the one you still want to wear in three years. That's why we won't cut corners on quality to save costs or speed things up – not on the fabric, not on the stitching, not on the fit. Every stage has to meet the same standard, or it doesn't leave the workshop.
We design Casa Blu as separates – tops and bottoms that mix across the range, giving you more combinations from fewer pieces.
We believe in buying less and choosing well.
PACKAGING
All our packaging is biodegradable or reusable, right down to the mailer. No unnecessary inserts, no excess plastic.
